Campers Duties

STAFF ARE EXPECTED TO SUPERVISE DUTIES.

PARENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO COMPLETE THEIR DUTIES QUICKLY AND EFFECTIVELY; HOWEVER, NOT TO DO THE WORK FOR THEM.


INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY
1. Make beds neatly
2. Tidy clothes, nothing to be left on floor
3. Hang wet towels and bathers on clothesline outside.

DORMITORY CLEANERS
1. Vacuum floor daily. Don’t forget under the beds.
2. Sweep bathroom floor
4. Empty bins
5. Sweep stairs and landing at the entrance to your dormitory


ENERGY MONITOR (1 boy, 1 girl)
1. Prior to dinner, the evening program and when the group is starting the days program, walk around the dorms and turn off all lights.


The numbers suggested are for larger camps, please feel free to change the number of students on duty to better suit your camp.

DINING HALL DUTIES

It is important that the students are familiar with their duties before they arrive.

ALL DUTIES MUST BE SUPERVISED BY AT LEAST ONE STAFF MEMBER, PLUS ONE EXTRA ADULT TO OPERATE DISHWASHER.

Please note that the evening meal dinner is unable to be held later.

SETTERS (1 per table)
1. Report to the dining hall 15 minutes before each meal.
2. Arrange tables and chairs.
3. Set tables as needed (see cooks)
4. Fill drink jugs, one on each table.

   
HALL TIDIERS (4 per meal)
1. Collect bowls and cloths from recycle area.
2. Half fill with hot, soapy water.
3. Wipe down all tables thoroughly, dry with tea towel.
4. Empty bowls, wipe out and replace.
5. Sweep hall and recycle area

 
   
SLOPPY JOES (2 per meal)
After the meal scrape leftover food into bin.

   

WASHERS (2 rinsers, 2 stackers)
1. RINSERS : Fill sinks with hot water, rinse all dishes.
2. STACKERS : Stack dishes on to trolley, put cutlery into cutlery holders.

 
   
  WIPERS (4 per meal)
1. All wipers to wash hands thoroughly before picking up tea towel.
2. Wipe all dishes, cutlery etc.
3. Put away in correct position.


NO STUDENT IS TO LEAVE CLEANUP AREA UNTIL DISMISSED BY A TEACHER.
