Camp Organisers Check List

Before Your Camp

1. Discuss the proposed camp with your Principal, Committee or members and the Camp School Manager.

2. Integrate your proposed camp into your school program and identify the outcomes you want your children to achieve.

3. Read requirements of Department of Education and Training Policy Excursions Off School Site Activities. Located at

And the Outdoor and Recreation Activities located at

4. Pay your deposit in order to secure your booking, plus return the Camp Return Slip (mailed out to you).

5. Arrange transport

At Least One Month before the Camp!

1. Camp Medical Authority Form & Camp Permission Form sent home and returned. See camp booklet for form.

You need to:

1. Organise payment for excursions off camp site.

2. Supply information to students, teachers and parents.

3. Organise dormitory rosters, competition, and allocation. Organise staff roster.

4. Finalised evening program & made wet weather alternatives - just in case.

5. Briefed all that are attending camp on everyone's role at camp including the role of Camp School Manager and staff.

6. Forwarded final details of the camp to the parents and received payment for the camp.

Leading up to Camp!

1. Discussed and have the students organise their duty roster.

2. Discussed the clothing list to be taken home.

3. Completed the Camp Policy form.

4. Make up camp booklet.

During Camp!

1. Re-read roles and responsibilities with students.

2. Reinforce camp policy.

3. Organise excursion thank you speakers.

4. When in doubt liaise with Camp School Manager.

After Camp

1. Debrief the camp with the students, appraise the camp returning the Exit Evaluation Form to the camp school.

2. Any outstanding payments to be sent.

3. Send of thank you letters.

4. Camp Diaries and photographic display in the school library or classroom. Write a report for the school newsletter. Have the students compile a CD of photographic images taken whilst on camp and have the students burn a copy as a keepsake.

5. Make a booking at the Point PeronCamp School for the following year.
